  The funny car heroes of yesteryear are immortalized in Auto Worlds Legends of the Quarter Mile. Painted traditional Fighting Irish green with blue and gold trim, the new Camaro carries forward the legacy of their NHRA nationals winning fueler The new Fighting Irish 1971 Camaro is powered by a 426 cubic inch tunnel port Mopar HEMI, putting power to the ground through a Ford Detroit Locker running 4:10 gears Former Marine Dick Rosberg was hired to pilot this new drag racer across the USA on the professional circuit In 1971 at the New England Dragway in Epping NH, Rosberg in the Fighting Irish was the winner running a 6.90 quarter mile at 206 mph Dick Rosberg would go on to pilot the Fighting Irish funny cars for three years until Tim Beebe retired from racing. In 2013 the late Dick Rosberg was inducted into the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame.
