By 1972, the muscle car era was unmistakably in decline due to the twin blows of rising insurance rates and increasingly stringent Federal emissions standards. However, the 1972 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 was proof that Oldsmobile wasn't giving up on the muscle car era. The 1972 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 convertible was limited to only 113 cars produced, making it a highly collectible piece.
